FLORIDA — Senator Rick Scott called for the destruction of Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities as the war with Iran neared the end of its third week. Scott, who serves on the Senate Armed Services Committee, criticized President Biden's handling of the conflict during committee proceedings.

"I don't think the commander in chief of our armed forces ought to be telling the enemy, which is the Iranian government here, what our plan is," Scott said. "I do not want Iran to have nuclear weapons or the ability to use ballistic missiles to kill our troops or Americans."

The Pentagon is considering asking Congress to approve $200 billion to fund the ongoing military operation against Iran. A $200 billion funding request equates to about $1,200 per taxpayer. For comparison, funding two years of the Iraq War cost about $200 billion.

Senator Chris Murphy said that the Iranian regime is still intact and that he had not seen a plan from the president for ending the war.

Rick Scott said, "This is a president that doesn't like forever wars."
