MINLEY — Raheem Sterling was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and possession of a Class C substance after a Lamborghini crashed into barriers on the M3 near the Minley Interchange on Thursday, May 28, 2026. Hampshire Police received reports just before 9 a.m. that the vehicle had collided with barriers on the southbound carriageway.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and no injuries were reported, according to a police statement. The driver, a 31-year-old man from Berkshire, was arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs, driving dangerously, possession of a Class C drug, and failing to provide a specimen.

Sterling has been released on bail while inquiries continue. The incident occurred during his tenure with Dutch club Feyenoord, which he joined in February 2026 after leaving Chelsea. He made his Feyenoord debut against Telstar at De Kuip Stadium on February 22, 2026.

Work permit delays initially prevented Sterling from training with Feyenoord, requiring him to train in Belgium for four days before he could legally join the squad. During his time at the club, he played 421 minutes across all competitions without scoring, provided one assist, and received one booking. Feyenoord have no interest in extending his stay.

Sterling had opted to join Feyenoord despite reported interest from Everton and West Ham. His last recorded goal came for Arsenal against Bolton in September 2024. Across his career with Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Feyenoord, Sterling has recorded 174 goals and 126 assists in 585 appearances.
