PITTSBURGH — Bryan Reynolds hit a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Pittsburgh Pirates a 6-5 victory over the Minnesota Twins on May 29, 2026, at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, PA. His 422-foot blast to left field off pitcher Taylor Rogers scored Tyler Callihan and ended the game.

The Twins had taken a 5-3 lead in the third inning on a two-run home run by Trevor Larnach that bounced before splashing into the Allegheny River. Oneil Cruz responded in the bottom half with a 450-foot homer that landed directly in the river, cutting the deficit to one run.

Pittsburgh opened the scoring with three runs in the first inning against Twins starter Taj Bradley. Bradley began the game by throwing eight consecutive balls, walking Brandon Lowe and Bryan Reynolds, and the inning was aided by a throwing error by third baseman Brooks Lee. The Twins answered immediately when Kody Clemens hit a solo home run on a 100.1 mph fastball from Pirates starter Jared Jones—the fastest pitch homered on in the 2026 season to that point.

The Twins managed only two hits after the third inning. Cody Laweryson retired the Pirates with runners on second and third and no outs in the eighth. Twins manager Derek Shelton said, “He’s a good hitter. I know that because I was here for a long time and saw him do a lot of good things. Taylor just missed his spot.” Shelton added, “Knowing Jared, he was going to be amped up. It was 101, 102. I thought we did a good job. Kody clipped him early and then we just continued to have really good at-bats off him.”

Taj Bradley said, “I didn’t really have one pitch to pitch consistently with and find the zone with. I feel like that would have taken me further in the game and had quicker at-bats. I just felt like not one pitch was there where I could strike it consistently back-to-back.” Taylor Rogers said, “Especially all the bullpen guys doing well, kind of having them throwing as much as they have, to kind of go wreck that, it stinks a little extra.”
