ARLINGTON — Five people, including three teenagers and a 24-year-old man, were arrested after a planned confrontation at Brantley Hinshaw Park in Arlington turned violent on Wednesday night. Arlington police responded to the park in the 2100 block of Overbrook Drive just after 11 p.m. to investigate a disturbance.

Two teenage boys told officers they had come to the park to meet a girl they had been talking to through an app. Shortly after arriving, they reported that a group of males wearing ski masks approached them, several of whom were armed. The teens attempted to run away, but the suspects chased them.

"One of those teens had a pocketknife, and he did pull that out and start using it to defend himself against these other individuals that were chasing them and that were carrying guns," Arlington police spokesperson Tim Ciesco said. Investigators determined the teen stabbed two of the suspects during the encounter.

Seventeen-year-old Giovanni Holloway was driven by friends to Medical City Arlington with a stab wound. Officers learned Holloway had allegedly gone to the park intending to fight the victims and had used a female friend to lure them there. After being medically cleared, he was arrested and booked into the Arlington City Jail on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police also arrested 17-year-old Johnathan Antoine, 19-year-old Maverick Holloway, and 17-year-old Jeremiah Martinez. Each was booked into the Arlington City Jail on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

"We got a call from one of our local hospitals here that somebody had shown up at the hospital with a stab wound. So, officers did respond to the hospital," Ciesco said. Investigators were later notified that 24-year-old Mister Walker had arrived at Arlington Memorial Hospital with a stab wound. Walker matched the description of an outstanding suspect connected to the park incident, and during a search of his vehicle, officers recovered multiple firearms and a ski mask. Walker was arrested and will be booked into the Arlington City Jail on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon once he is medically cleared.
