ARLINGTON — The 2026 NCAA baseball tournament regionals began on Friday, May 29, 2026, with 64 teams competing across 16 host sites in a double-elimination format. Each regional is hosted by one of the top 16 national seeds, who serve as the No. 1 team in their respective brackets.

UCLA entered the tournament as the No. 1 overall seed with a 51–6 record but suffered an opening-day setback, falling 3–2 to Saint Mary’s in the Los Angeles regional. Georgia Tech, the No. 2 seed at 48–9, defeated UIC 22–5 in Atlanta, while No. 3 seed Georgia (46–12) did not play on the first day after Liberty defeated Boston College 4–3 in the Athens regional.

No. 4 seed Auburn (38–19) was upset by Milwaukee 13–8 in its home regional. In Chapel Hill, No. 5 seed North Carolina (45–11–1) saw East Carolina defeat Tennessee 7–3. No. 6 seed Texas (40–13) defeated Holy Cross 19–1 in Austin, and No. 7 seed Alabama (37–19) watched as USC Upstate beat Oklahoma State 8–5 in Tuscaloosa.

No. 8 seed Florida (39–19) edged Rider 8–7 in Gainesville. Southern Miss, the No. 9 seed (44–15), lost 7–4 to Little Rock in Hattiesburg. Oregon (No. 11, 40–16) fell 3–2 to Washington State in Eugene, and Texas A&M (No. 12, 39–14) defeated Lamar 7–5 in College Station.

Nebraska (No. 13, 42–15) beat South Dakota State 4–1 in Lincoln, though the regional’s other game between Ole Miss and Arizona State was delayed due to rain with no new start time announced as of 6:45 p.m. Mississippi State (No. 14, 40–17) defeated Lipscomb 10–1 in Starkville, Kansas (No. 15, 42–16) topped Northeastern 6–3 in Lawrence, and West Virginia (No. 16, 39–14) saw Kentucky defeat Wake Forest 6–5 in Morgantown.

Reigning national champion LSU did not qualify for the tournament after finishing the season with a 30–28 record.
