PENNSYLVANIA — The PIAA softball playoffs begin on Monday, June 1, 2026, with 96 teams competing across six classification tiers. Each class features 16 teams, setting the stage for a three-week tournament culminating in state championship games.

The opening round includes several matchups involving teams from the Bucks County area, which placed seven squads into the postseason bracket. Those teams are distributed across five of the six classes, with three—Emmaus, North Penn, and Pennsbury—competing in Class 6A. In Class 1A, Dock Mennonite travels to face Tri-Valley at 4 p.m. Philadelphia Academy Charter visits Bristol at 4 p.m. in a Class 2A contest. Villa Joseph Marie meets Nazareth Academy at FDR Park at 4 p.m. in Class 3A, while Upper Moreland plays at Abington Heights at 4:30 p.m. in Class 5A. The Class 6A first-round games feature Emmaus at Souderton at 6 p.m., North Penn at Central Dauphin at 4 p.m., and Pennsbury at Chambersburg at Norlo Park at 4 p.m. The number of Bucks County teams qualifying for the 2026 playoffs matches the total from 2025, although the specific schools that advanced this year differ from last season’s group.

The first three rounds of the playoffs are held at regional sites. The quarterfinals are scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 2026, followed by the semifinals on Monday, June 8, 2026. The championship schedule splits across two days: Classes 1A, 3A, and 5A will compete for state titles on Thursday, June 11, 2026, while Classes 2A, 4A, and 6A will play their finals on Friday, June 12, 2026. All championship games take place at Penn State's Nittany Lion Softball Park.
