FLORISSANT — Danielle Uskiwich, 28, died on May 26, 2026, from complications following a head injury she sustained at the Pointfest music festival in Maryland Heights, Missouri, on May 16, 2026. She was kicked in the head by a crowd surfer during the event.

After the concert, Uskiwich called her mother to report worsening headaches and later sought medical treatment when the pain intensified. Doctors discovered a brain bleed and admitted her to the hospital, where she suffered her first stroke.

Uskiwich then suffered a second stroke and underwent emergency surgery. During the procedure, doctors found additional hidden blood clots in her brain. She was placed in a medically induced coma on May 22 to reduce brain swelling and remained in the intensive care unit until her death.

Kristin Shelton said, “She went to the concert, and she got kicked in the head. She ended up calling her mom and said that she was having more headaches.” Shelton added, “She ended up having her first stroke.”

Uskiwich’s parents and fiancé decided to donate her organs. Relatives wrote in an online fundraiser, “Danielle’s immediate family made the incredibly selfless decision to honor her giving spirit through organ donation so that others may have a second chance at life.”

Uskiwich was engaged to Jason, with plans to marry in April 2027. Her family described the incident as a “freak accident” and said they do not blame the concert or the crowd-surfing accident.
