WASHINGTON, D.C. — Bruce Springsteen and Tom Morello announced the 'Power to the People' protest festival on May 28, 2026, during a concert at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. The event is scheduled for October 3, 2026, at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.

Springsteen performed 'American Skin (41 Shots)' and 'Streets of Minneapolis' during the concert. 'Streets of Minneapolis' was performed in response to the killings of Renée Good and Alex Pretti by federal immigration agents. He also led the audience in an 'ICE out!' chant. Springsteen said, 'Our democracy, our constitution, our rule of law are being challenged right now as never before by a reckless, racist, incompetent, treasonous president and his ship of fools administration.' He added, 'The Gestapo tactics of this president and this administration will not stand here.' He told the crowd, 'This American tragedy can only be stopped by the American people: you. There is no one coming to save us. We've got to do it ourselves.' Before performing 'Chimes of Freedom,' Springsteen said, 'God bless Alex Pretti, God bless Renée Good, God bless you and God bless America.' Springsteen concluded his remarks by saying, 'So join us and let's fight for the America that we love. Do you hear me, Washington?'

Morello described the festival as being about 'freedom, justice, equality and rock 'n' roll.' He said, 'It's about the power everyday human beings have when they come together through music, art, community and action.' Morello added, 'We're honored to bring this incredible lineup to the DC area for a day that celebrates the spirit of activism, creativity, and hope.'

Headliners for the festival include Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Brittany Howard, and Joan Baez. The lineup also features Dropkick Murphys, Jack Black, Serj Tankian, Killer Mike, Taylor Momsen, and the Linda Lindas. A portion of ticket proceeds will benefit the organizations VoteRiders and HeadCount.
