RIO DE JANEIRO — Vasco will face Barracas Central in the sixth and final match of Group G of the 2026 Copa Sudamericana on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 7 p.m. Brasília time. The match will be played at São Januário and officiated by Uruguayan referee Esteban Ostojich (FIFA-URU). The match will be broadcast on Paramount+.
Vasco enters the match tied with Audax Italiano at seven points in Group G, trailing Olimpia, which leads with 10 points. Barracas Central, eliminated from contention, has three points. Vasco can finish first in the group and avoid the playoff round only if it wins and Audax Italiano defeats Olimpia on the road by no more than a two-goal margin.
Vasco has lost its last three matches and will be without João Vitor Mutano, who is suspended, as well as Paulo Henrique, sidelined with an ankle sprain, and Puma, who is out due to a foot infection. To address defensive shortages, the club will deploy Tchê Tchê at right-back. Cuiabano will start at left-back, and Cuesta will return to the starting lineup in central defense. Manager Renato Gaúcho will return to the touchline after serving a suspension.
Barracas Central is winless in its last seven matches and has already been eliminated from the tournament. The Argentine side is expected to aim for a positive result in its final Sudamericana appearance before the World Cup break. Manager Rúben Insúa will be without suspended players Nicolás Capraro and Morales, but Damián Martínez is available after completing his suspension. Barracas Central’s starting lineup has not yet been announced.
