BELO HORIZONTE — The eight teams that qualified for the quarterfinals of the Brasileirão U20 have been decided, with one group stage match remaining. Atlético-MG will face Chapecoense in the final group stage match on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Arena MRV in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais.
Ceará, CRB, Goiás, and Atlético-MG advanced from Group A, while Atlético-GO, Coritiba, Sport, and Internacional advanced from Group B. Ceará finished first in Group A with 19 points, followed by CRB with 14 points, Goiás with 13 points, and Atlético-MG with 12 points. Atlético-MG is mathematically qualified for the quarterfinals despite not having played its final group stage match.
In Group B, Atlético-GO topped the standings with 15 points, ahead of Coritiba with 14 points, Sport with 13 points, and Internacional with 12 points. The final matchday results confirmed the elimination of Vila Nova and Botafogo-SP, who finished fifth and sixth in Group B after losses to Sport and Coritiba, respectively.
Other group stage results included Goiás defeating Mirassol 3-1 at CT Edmo Pinheiro in Goiânia, Goiás. CRB and Novorizontino drew 1-1 at Estádio Manoel Ferreira de Amorim in São Miguel dos Campos, Alagoas. Ceará defeated Brusque 3-1 at Estádio Franzé Moraes in Itaitinga, Ceará.
Group B also saw Coritiba defeat Botafogo-SP 1-0 at Estádio Bayard Osna in Colombo, Paraná. Atlético-GO defeated Operário-PR 3-0 at Estádio Zico Brandão in Inhumas, Goiás. Sport defeated Vila Nova 5-2 at Estádio José Dionísio do Carmo in Goiana, Pernambuco, and Internacional defeated Paysandu 2-0 at CT Futvida in Viamão, Rio Grande do Sul.
Novorizontino finished fifth in Group A with 10 points, followed by Mirassol with 6 points, Chapecoense with 4 points, and Brusque with 0 points. In Group B, Vila Nova ended with 11 points and Botafogo-SP with 10 points, while Paysandu and Operário-PR each finished with 3 points, placing seventh and eighth respectively.
