HOBART — Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested on Tuesday, May 23, in Hobart, Wisconsin, and faces five domestic abuse-related charges. Authorities responded at approximately 8:37 a.m. that day to a disturbance complaint involving Jacobs, according to the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department.

Jacobs turned himself into police and was booked into the Brown County Jail on charges of battery—domestic abuse, criminal damage to property—domestic abuse, disorderly conduct—domestic abuse, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim. The Hobart-Lawrence Police Department did not release additional details, citing an ongoing investigation.

"Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public," Jacobs' attorneys, David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld and Clarence Duhac, said in a statement.

A Packers spokesman acknowledged the situation but declined to elaborate. "We are aware of the matter involving Josh Jacobs. As it is an ongoing legal situation, we will withhold further comment."

The National Football League confirmed it is monitoring the case. "We are aware of the report and have been in contact with the club."

Jacobs, who enters his third season with the Packers in 2026, previously spent five seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders. He won the NFL rushing title in 2022 with 1,653 yards and earned first-team All-Pro honors that year. Over his first seven NFL seasons, Jacobs has received three Pro Bowl selections. In the 2024 season, Jacobs recorded 1,329 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. He followed that with 929 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns in the 2025 season, during which he missed two games.
