Eight teams advanced to the 2026 Women's College World Series after the NCAA softball super regional round ran from May 21 to May 24. Tennessee, Nebraska, Alabama, Arkansas, UCLA, Texas Tech, Mississippi State and Texas all secured bids to the championship event.

Nine of the 16 super regional teams came from the Southeastern Conference, and only two super regional matchups did not feature an SEC program. Of last year's eight Women's College World Series teams, only Oregon and Ole Miss did not advance to this year's super regionals.

Alabama, which entered the round at 54-7, swept LSU by scores of 7-0 and 4-1. Alabama did not allow a single run during the regional round, outscoring opponents 20-0, while LSU had outscored its regional opponents 23-2 over its first three tournament games.

Texas, at 45-10, lost Game 1 of its super regional to Arizona State 4-1 before winning Game 2 by 4-3 and Game 3 by 5-0. Texas had defeated Wagner, Wisconsin and Baylor by a combined 25-1 in the regional round. Arizona State had reached the super regionals after defeating Texas A&M twice.

Mississippi State, at 43-19, defeated Oklahoma 11-9, lost 7-1, then won 6-0 to take the super regional series. Mississippi State lost its regional opener to St. Mary's before winning its next two regional games. Oklahoma had defeated Binghamton, Kansas and Michigan by a combined 28-1 in the regional round.

Nebraska, at 51-6, swept Oklahoma State 8-1 and 9-1. Nebraska was ranked as the top team in the country by most polls at the end of the regular season and went unbeaten in the regional round. The program had not appeared in the Women's College World Series since 2013. Oklahoma State had defeated Stanford twice in the regional round.

Arkansas, at 47-11, defeated Duke 14-5 and 10-2 to reach the Women's College World Series for the first time in program history. Duke had advanced to the super regionals after losing to Arizona and winning two games against Arizona in the regional round.

Texas Tech, at 57-7, defeated Florida 10-8, lost 10-2, then won 17-7. Florida had appeared in the Women's College World Series in both 2024 and 2025 and had defeated Georgia Tech twice in the regional round. Texas Tech's roster includes pitchers NiJaree Canady and Kaitlyn Terry.

Tennessee, at 47-10, defeated Georgia 3-1 and 2-1, securing its third Women's College World Series appearance in four years. Georgia had won all three of its regional games.

UCLA, at 52-8, advanced through a super regional matchup against UCF. UCF had reached the super regionals for the second time in program history after winning one of two games against Florida State in the regional round.
