DELAWARE — Seven Delaware high school softball teams advanced to the quarterfinals of the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association spring tournament after winning second-round games from May 20 through May 22, 2026. The advancing teams were Sussex Central, Sussex Tech, Polytech, Lake Forest, Delmar, Caravel and Saint Mark's.
Sussex Central opened the round on Wednesday, May 20, with a 10-0 victory over Appoquinimink. Four second-round games were decided on Thursday, May 21.
Sussex Tech defeated Caesar Rodney 5-3, and Polytech defeated Delaware Military Academy 10-0. Lake Forest defeated Odessa 13-7, while Delmar defeated Smyrna 1-0.
The round concluded on Friday, May 22, with two more games. Caravel defeated Sussex Academy 13-8, and Saint Mark's defeated Concord 12-11.
In total, the seven winning teams combined to outscore their opponents 64-29 across the three days of second-round play. Sussex Central and Polytech each posted shutout victories, while Delmar's 1-0 result over Smyrna was the closest margin of the round. Saint Mark's 12-11 win over Concord was the highest-scoring game of the three days.
