DORTMUND — Borussia Dortmund have agreed personal terms with Diego Moreira and are working to reach an agreement with RC Strasbourg to complete the transfer. Strasbourg are demanding €38 million plus €5 million in bonuses for the player.
If the deal is completed at that price, Moreira would become Dortmund's most expensive signing ever. The current record was set in 2016, when Ousmane Dembélé arrived at the German club from Stade Rennais FC for €35 million.
Moreira scored five goals and provided nine assists in 42 appearances for Strasbourg during the 2025/26 season. The 2025/26 campaign saw him establish himself as one of the club's key contributors, with his combined goal and assist tally of 14 ranking among the highest at Strasbourg that season.
Moreira is also part of Belgium's squad for this summer's World Cup. His inclusion in the national squad reflects his activity at club level during the 2025/26 season, a campaign that has now drawn interest from Dortmund. The German club's current transfer record dates to 2016, when Dembélé joined from Rennais for €35 million — a fee that Strasbourg's asking price of up to €43 million would surpass by €8 million.
