Hull City will celebrate the club's return to the Premier League with an open-top bus parade through the city's streets on Monday, following a 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough in the Championship play-off final at Wembley on Saturday. Oli McBurnie scored the winner with a late close-range strike, sending the club back to the top flight after nine years away.

The parade will begin in Ferensway at 15:10 BST and tour the city before arriving at City Hall about an hour later. Entertainment will begin at 14:00 in Queen Victoria Square with a big screen showing highlights from the game, the city council said. Pitch-side announcer Steve Jordan and DJ Eddie Richards will warm up the crowd at 16:15, and the event will conclude at 17:15.

Fans are welcome to wave off the team buses from the MKM Stadium at 15:00 but have been asked not to gather on Anlaby Road to avoid blocking access to Hull Royal Infirmary. The route will follow Ferensway, Beverley Road, Sutton Road, Ings Road, Holderness Road, Witham, North Bridge, Freetown Way, Ferensway, Carr Lane and finish at City Hall in Queen Victoria Square. A number of roads will be closed or have restrictions in place during the parade. The event will be the second such celebration in the city within a year after Super League champions Hull KR held an event in Queen Victoria Square in October 2025.

Council leader Mike Ross said: "I would like to offer huge congratulations to Hull City on their fantastic victory at Wembley, and on securing their well-deserved return to the Premier League. Their journey to this moment has not been an easy one - from being tipped as relegation candidates at the start of the season, to all the uncertainty relating to who they would face in the play-offs at the end - the team have come through it all."

Ross added: "The club, players and fans have shown the true resilience associated with our city to overcome the odds, and can now prepare for the global audiences the Premier League attracts to further showcase themselves and Hull as a city to the rest of the world."

Thousands of fans celebrated the Wembley result with cheers and tears. "There's the top of the world - and I'm even higher. I'm on Mars!" supporter Jamie Petrigrew said. Fellow supporter Dean Cartlidge said: "We are back to the promised land."
