LONDON — Tottenham Hotspur will host Everton in a Premier League match in London, with a draw enough to secure Tottenham's survival in the top flight due to their superior goal difference. Defeat would leave the club in danger of being relegated for the first time since 1977.

The fixture comes almost exactly one year after Tottenham won the Europa League. The club has replaced three managers since that triumph.

In the 2024-25 Premier League season, Tottenham finished one place above the relegation zone, 13 points clear of the bottom three. The team has not won any of their last 10 home league matches, drawing four and losing six. That run is Tottenham's second-longest winless home league streak, behind a 14-game stretch between October 1993 and April 1994.

Everton arrive without a win in their last six Premier League games. At the start of April, the club had been in contention for a place in European competition.

"Results in the last four or five games haven't been good enough," Everton manager David Moyes said. He pointed to a run in which Everton have led during each of their last three matches without winning any, recording two draws and one defeat.

Everton lost to Sunderland at Hill Dickinson Stadium the previous weekend, concluding their first season at that stadium. The club has fielded 22 players this Premier League season, the fewest of any side and tied for the fewest in their Premier League history. Everton have suffered injuries to key players this season and plan to strengthen their squad in the summer, Moyes said.

The away record at Tottenham offers little encouragement for the visitors. Everton have won one of their last 16 Premier League away games at Tottenham, drawing four and losing 11. Their last four away matches at the venue have ended in defeat by a combined score of 13-1.
