Podcast host Alex Cooper announced on Sunday in an Instagram post that she and her husband, Hollywood producer Matt Kaplan, are expecting their first child. Cooper captioned the post "Our family" followed by a white heart emoji.
The image showed Cooper, 31, seated on the armrest of a chair and turned toward Kaplan, 42, who was seated beside her. Cooper was smiling with one hand resting on her baby bump.
Cooper and Kaplan first met on a Zoom call in July 2020 and became engaged in 2023, three years after they met. They were married in a ceremony in Riviera Maya, Mexico, in April 2024.
In 2023, the couple co-founded the Unwell Network, a multi-platform media and Gen Z production company, with "Call Her Daddy" as its flagship podcast. The Unwell Network is a subsidiary of the media company Trending. The "Call Her Daddy" podcast has over 2.1 million subscribers on YouTube, and most of its listeners are Gen Z and millennial women. Cooper has over 7.2 million followers on Instagram.
The week before the announcement, Cooper and Kaplan walked the YouTube TV Upfront red carpet event, with her pregnancy concealed by a black structured blazer and suit pants. Cooper is the host of "Call Her Daddy," one of the flagship offerings of the Unwell Network.
Speaking previously about her path to starting a family, Cooper said, "I think I was scared to vocalize one of my biggest fears, which was the possibility that this mistake I made years ago was going to impact my fertility. Matt was the first person I had dated that had me realize I even wanted to have kids."
Cooper also said, "I told him everything. And he couldn't have been more loving and understanding and supportive."
