VALENCIA — FC Barcelona will close their La Liga season with an away match against Valencia at Mestalla. The fixture will be the final game of the campaign for the newly crowned Spanish champions.

Barcelona have already secured the La Liga title, which they clinched with three match-days to spare. The result against Valencia will not affect their standing in the table, with the maximum number of points the club can finish on this season standing at 97.

The trip to Mestalla follows a home fixture against Real Betis at Spotify Camp Nou. Earlier in the month, Barcelona did not win their league game against Deportivo Alaves. Across all competitions, the club have lost only one of their last seven away games against Valencia.

Barcelona have also won the Spanish Super Cup this season, adding to the domestic league title. Real Madrid finished the season without a trophy.

Earlier in the week, Barcelona players met over dinner to celebrate their domestic campaign. The final match could provide opportunities for players who have not featured regularly this season, including Alvaro Cortes, Alejandro Balde, Xavi Espart and Roony Bardghi.

Joao Cancelo and Marcus Rashford, who have spent the season on loan at Barcelona, are not guaranteed to continue at the club next season.

Goalkeeper Joan Garcia is the favourite for the Zamora Trophy and is guaranteed to win the award even if he does not feature in the final match. The Zamora Trophy is awarded to the goalkeeper with the best goals-against record in La Liga.

In the race for the Zarra Trophy, awarded to the Spanish player with the most league goals, Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal have each scored 16 goals in La Liga this season. Mikel Oyarzabal has scored 15.
