DETROIT — The Detroit Lions signed All-Pro linebacker Jack Campbell to a four-year contract extension that keeps him under contract through the 2030 season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Campbell had been entering the final year of his rookie contract before signing the extension. The Lions declined his fifth-year option, which had been set at $21.9 million for the 2027 season, earlier in the offseason.

"I just wanted to let you guys know, I signed my extension. I'm excited to be back. I'm excited to be here long term. Now it's time to go win a Super Bowl," Campbell said.

Campbell was selected by the Lions with the 18th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, one of two first-round selections by the team that year. Detroit also took running back Jahmyr Gibbs with the 12th overall pick in that draft. Campbell started 12 games as a rookie in 2023 and has not missed a game during his first three seasons.

Over the 2024 and 2025 seasons, Campbell started all 34 games for the Lions and recorded at least 131 total tackles in each year. In 2025, he posted a career-high and NFC-leading 176 combined tackles, with nine tackles for loss and five sacks. His 89 solo tackles led the NFC and ranked fourth in the NFL that season. Campbell also recorded four passes defensed, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 2025, and earned first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors.

The Lions defense ranked 20th in the league in 2024 and improved to 18th in 2025.

Lions players will report for their first day of voluntary organized team activities on Wednesday. The team's mandatory minicamp will take place on June 16 and 17.
