WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump said Thursday at the White House that he had not decided whether to attend the wedding of his son Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson on Saturday in the Bahamas. He told reporters that the Iran war and other matters were complicating his plans, and that his response to the invitation remained pending. Trump also said he expected to face media attacks regardless of the decision he ultimately made.

Asked by reporters whether he would travel for the ceremony, he said he was weighing the trip against ongoing demands on his schedule. The wedding is scheduled to take place in the Bahamas.

"It is not good timing for me," Trump said. "He'd like me to go. But it's going to be just a small, little private affair, and I'm going to try and make it."

He pointed to foreign policy obligations as a central factor in his hesitation, noting the ongoing situation with Iran. He also said that either way he would be attacked by the media.

"I have a thing called Iran and other things. That's one I can't win on," he said. "If I do attend, I get killed."

Trump wished the couple a great marriage during his remarks. Donald Trump Jr. and Anderson announced their engagement during a White House holiday party in December, where Trump Jr. described the engagement as a big win as the president stood behind the couple.
