New York Yankees outfielder Trent Grisham will undergo imaging on Thursday after exiting Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays with left knee discomfort. Initial evaluation found no structural damage to the knee, the Yankees announced.

Grisham appeared to be in discomfort when he reached second base on a bloop double in the bottom of the second inning, with the ball falling between left fielder Yohendrick Piñango and third baseman Kazuma Okamoto. He grimaced at the bag after the play.

Spencer Jones was set to pinch-hit for Grisham in the bottom of the fourth inning, and Jones replaced him in center field in the top of the fifth. The appearance was Jones's second start in center field after he played 22 games at the position for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Yankees are also without outfielder Jasson Domínguez, who is on the injured list with a sprained left shoulder sustained while crashing into the left field fence at Yankee Stadium on May 7.

Grisham is hitting .174 with six home runs and 27 RBIs this season, posting a .639 OPS. His batting average is the fourth-lowest in the majors among qualifying hitters, while his RBI total ranks third among center fielders.

Last season, Grisham batted .235 with a career-high 34 home runs and 74 RBIs in 143 games. He was acquired by the Yankees from the San Diego Padres in December 2023 along with Juan Soto, and returned to New York in the offseason on a one-year, $22,025,000 qualifying offer.
