LOUISIANA — U.S. Representative Julia Letlow announced endorsements from five Republican senators in her campaign for the June 27 Republican primary runoff for a Louisiana U.S. Senate seat. Letlow is opposing state Treasurer John Fleming in the runoff.

Senators Rick Scott of Florida, Katie Britt of Alabama, Bernie Moreno of Ohio, Tim Sheehy of Montana and Jim Banks of Indiana each announced their endorsements in a news release and on their social media platforms. Letlow finished first in the May 16 Republican primary with 45 percent of the vote, while Fleming finished second with 28 percent.

"I am incredibly honored to have the support of these strong conservative leaders. Each of them is fighting every day to help President Trump deliver on the America First agenda, and I would be proud to stand alongside them in the United States Senate. Louisiana Republicans are ready for strong conservative leadership that will stand with President Trump, fight for our values, and never waver," Congresswoman Julia Letlow said.

Britt addressed Letlow's candidacy in her endorsement statement. "My friend Julia Letlow is exactly the kind of strong conservative leader we need in the United States Senate. She is a woman of faith, a fighter for families, and Julia has already delivered real results for Louisiana in the House. I know she will bring that same strength, conviction and leadership to the Senate," Senator Katie Britt said.

Letlow, a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Louisiana, finished first in the May 16 Republican primary with 45 percent of the vote. Fleming finished second with 28 percent, and Bill Cassidy finished third with 25 percent and did not advance to the runoff.

Letlow's campaign was based on support from President Donald Trump, who endorsed her in the U.S. Senate race. Additional endorsements came from Governor Jeff Landry of Louisiana, Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill and U.S. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise.
