HOUSTON — A driver fired a handgun at a vehicle carrying a woman and her 16-year-old daughter during a road rage incident Tuesday night near the 7600 block of the Katy Freeway in Houston, police confirmed. The woman, identified as Mary, said a passenger in a gray Cadillac Escalade pulled a Tiffany Blue handgun and shot at her car on Interstate 10.

"So as me and my daughter were going up I-10, a car suddenly moved in front of us," Mary said. She said she drove around the Escalade, but the SUV returned in front of her vehicle before moving aggressively alongside it.

"They got on the side of us and they looked in the car and I saw a woman pull a Tiffany Blue pistol, a handgun," she said. She said her daughter began recording the encounter on her cellphone, and a gunshot can be heard in the video. She described the driver of the Escalade as a young Black man with long dreadlocks or twists, and said the female passenger was wearing a bonnet.

She said she attempted to follow the Escalade to obtain its license plate number and called 911 four times during the incident. She said she waited more than two hours for police to arrive before filing a report at the Houston Police Department's Dairy Ashford station. This was the first time she had personally experienced road rage violence, she said.

"I'm still pretty shaken up and I just want justice honestly," she said.

Last month, a road rage incident involving three vehicles on Greenhouse Road near Morton Road escalated into gunfire, with a 9-year-old passenger in one of the vehicles. In March, cellphone video captured a man approaching a woman with what appeared to be a machete during a confrontation on Highway 249 near Grant Road in northwest Harris County. Anyone with information about Tuesday's incident is asked to contact Houston police.
