ALBUQUERQUE — Three members of the Japanese-American punk band Peelander-Z were hospitalized after a vehicle crash outside Albuquerque on Monday evening, and the remainder of the group's tour has been canceled. The band members known as Yellow, Pink and Tiger were placed in intensive care and are expected to remain hospitalized for some time, according to Chicken Ranch Records.

Yellow has opened his eyes and is breathing on his own, according to the label. Pink is awake and being treated for multiple broken bones, while Tiger is able to walk and is being observed and treated for possible head injuries.

Peelander-Z, based in Austin, performs punk music in colorful costumes. The remaining tour dates were called off following the crash.

Chicken Ranch Records said it will set up a GoFundMe to support the band members as they work toward recovery. The label said it will update fans on any possible benefit events and is encouraging fans who want to organize a benefit show to contact the label directly.

The crash follows another incident earlier in the year involving the group's vehicle. In February, the band's van was reported stolen from an apartment parking lot on East 45th Street. The van was recovered in March.

Peelander-Z formed as a Japanese-American act and has built a following through energetic live performances in colorful costumes. The band had been in the middle of a tour at the time of the crash, according to Chicken Ranch Records, which announced the cancellation of all remaining dates.

Chicken Ranch Records has not specified a timeline for the band members' recovery. The label said it will provide updates as the conditions of Yellow, Pink and Tiger develop.
