Light Phone will offer 500 units of its Light Phone III device through Noble Mobile, a phone network founded by entrepreneur and politician Andrew Yang, starting May 19, 2026. The Noble Mobile plan requires a two-year contract at $50 per month for unlimited talk, text, and data, bringing the total cost to $1,200.

Customers who purchase the Light Phone III without a Noble Mobile plan pay $699 upfront and are estimated to receive their device in September 2026. Light Phone has struggled to ship its devices at an affordable rate without wait times, and an ongoing RAM shortage has hindered the company's ability to ship quickly. Since its launch last spring, the company has shipped 20,000 Light Phone III devices.

"I think what's exciting about the Noble launch is not just that the barrier to entry is lower. It's the first time that we've ever had the Light Phone III available for an immediate purchase," Light Phone co-founder Joe Hollier said.

Noble Mobile returns $1 for each gigabyte of data that customers do not use below a 20 GB threshold. Customers can receive the rebate in cash or use it like credit card points redeemable for rewards. Hollier said the structure aligned with the device's design philosophy.

"The Light Phone is designed to be used as little as possible, so it's on brand with Noble," he said. Hollier and Light Phone co-founder Kaiwei Tang met in 2014 at Google's 30 Weeks incubator for artists and designers.

Tang said the company aimed to position its product between minimalism and full-featured smartphones. "There's a middle ground of having the right technology tools that design without the attention and advertising layer of it," he said. He added: "It's not about asking people to give up their technology, or use this AI 6G smartphone."

"It's really interesting to see how people fit [Light Phone] into their lives," Hollier said in a previous statement about customer usage patterns. "Some people are actively switching between two phones, and we've seen a new trend of users actually getting two phone numbers, kind of like a work phone, home phone balance."
