BUENOS AIRES — AC/DC guitarist Stevie Young was hospitalized in Buenos Aires after feeling unwell just days before the band's scheduled performances in the city. He was admitted as a precaution and is undergoing a full series of tests at a local hospital.

"Stevie is doing well and in good spirits. He is eagerly looking forward to getting on stage on Monday," a spokesperson said. AC/DC is scheduled to perform three sold-out concerts at Buenos Aires' Monumental Stadium on March 23, 27, and 31.

The first concert date sold out quickly, prompting the band to add two more shows. Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires has a capacity of up to 85,000. The group arrived Wednesday afternoon at Buenos Aires' Ezeiza International Airport after performing in Santiago, Chile.

Young's hospitalization comes as AC/DC tours in support of their "Power Up" album. The tour is named after AC/DC's album "Power Up", released in 2020 in tribute to Malcolm Young. The last time AC/DC performed in Argentina was in 2009, when nearly 200,000 fans attended their concerts.

Stevie Young has been AC/DC's guitarist since 2014. Malcolm Young stepped down from AC/DC in 2014 due to health issues. Malcolm Young died in 2017 after suffering from dementia. Malcolm Young and his younger brother Angus Young founded AC/DC in Sydney, Australia, in 1973.

The current AC/DC lineup consists of Brian Johnson on vocals, Angus Young on guitar, Stevie Young on rhythm guitar, Matt Laug on drums, and Chris Chaney on bass. AC/DC is expected to play in Mexico City in early April.
