WASHINGTON — Voice actor Tom Kane died Monday at age 64, according to an announcement from Galactic Productions. The company posted news of his death on Facebook.

Kane voiced Yoda in the television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Admiral Ackbar in the film Star Wars: The Last Jedi. He also voiced Professor Utonium in Cartoon Network's The Powerpuff Girls from 2016 to 2019.

"From his unforgettable performances in Star Wars to countless animated series, documentaries, and games, Tom brought wisdom, strength, humor, and heart to every role he touched. His voice became part of our lives, our memories, and the stories we carry with us. Though his voice may now be silent, the characters, stories, and love he gave to the world will live on forever," Galactic Productions said in the Facebook post announcing his death.

Kane began doing voiceover work at age 15 in his hometown of Kansas City, according to IMDb. He performed voice-doubling work for actors including Morgan Freeman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and Liam Neeson, according to IMDb.

His video game credits included the Call of Duty franchise, Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and Marvel Future Revolution. He also provided the voice for the Walt Disney World Monorail and bus transportation system and narrated the nightly fireworks grand finale "Happily Ever After" at Disney Parks, according to IMDb.

In 2020, Kane suffered a stroke that damaged his ability to read, write and speak and left him largely unable to speak, according to IMDb. He retired that same year, according to IMDb.

In March, Kane reunited with the original voice actors of the Powerpuff Girls. "Reunited with my girls!!" he said of the gathering.

Kane and his wife built a family of nine children, including three biological children and six adopted or fostered children. He is survived by his wife, Cindy, and their children.
