KINGSTON — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash on May 17 in Pickaway County, Ohio, that killed one passenger and left a motorcyclist in critical condition. The collision occurred at approximately 2:51 p.m. at the intersection of state Route 159 and Kingston Adelphi Road in Kingston.

A 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, a pickup truck, was traveling westbound on Kingston Adelphi Road when it failed to come to a complete stop and rolled through the intersection at state Route 159. The Silverado is a model year 2011 vehicle. A 2023 CAN-AM Spyder motorcycle was traveling southbound on state Route 159 at the time of the collision. The CAN-AM Spyder is a model year 2023 vehicle.

The pickup truck struck the motorcycle, throwing both the operator and the passenger onto the roadway. The passenger, Peggy Sims, was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. The motorcycle operator was transported and remained in critical condition following the crash.

The crash occurred at the intersection of state Route 159 and Kingston Adelphi Road, located in Kingston in Pickaway County. Investigators determined that the Silverado, traveling westbound on Kingston Adelphi Road, did not come to a complete stop before entering the intersection. The 2023 CAN-AM Spyder was southbound on state Route 159 when the collision occurred. Both the operator and the passenger of the motorcycle were thrown onto the roadway as a result of the impact.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash remains under investigation.
