TORONTO — Drake released three new studio albums at midnight Eastern Time on Friday, marking the occasion with an icy-blue illumination of Toronto's CN Tower and a fireworks display over the city. The simultaneous releases of "ICEMAN," "MAID OF HONOUR" and "HABIBTI" comprise 43 songs totaling about two and a half hours of new music. The three releases are Drake's first studio albums since his 2023 project "For All The Dogs," which also featured 21 Savage and Sexyy Red.

The 1,800-foot CN Tower, Canada's tallest structure, was lit in icy blue late Thursday night to celebrate the album rollout, followed by the fireworks show over Toronto.

Drake announced the releases through separate Instagram posts featuring each album's cover art alongside the message "OUT AT MIDNIGHT." Fans received approximately one hour's notice for "MAID OF HONOUR" and "HABIBTI." The post for "ICEMAN" had drawn nearly 3 million reactions by 3 a.m.

The cover art for "ICEMAN" features a white bedazzled glove reminiscent of Michael Jackson and a friendship bracelet reminiscent of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. Swift released the albums "Folklore" and "Evermore" simultaneously in 2020.

"ICEMAN" includes reunion tracks with 21 Savage and Future. The rapper Sexyy Red, a 28-year-old artist from Missouri, is featured on "MAID OF HONOUR" and "HABIBTI." Drake and 21 Savage previously collaborated on the joint release "Her Loss" in 2022.

Born Aubrey Drake Graham in Toronto, the 39-year-old artist has featured the Canadian skyline and Toronto-related imagery in many of his tracks and music videos. On the cover of his 2016 album "Views," Drake appears photoshopped sitting atop the CN Tower. The Canadian Red Bull social media account responded to the rollout by crossing out the word "sleep" and replacing it with a prompt to listen to the three new albums.
