SAN ANTONIO — Bexar County Sheriff's Office homicide detectives are investigating the death of 37-year-old Krystle Proctor, who was found in the back of her white van at an apartment complex on Cinnamon Creek Drive near Fredericksburg Road in San Antonio, Texas. Proctor and her van had been reported missing on May 7, 2026, by someone at her home in southeast Bexar County.

Proctor was last seen on April 27, 2026. A neighbor said she noticed the white van parked in the same spot for several days and later detected an odor coming from it.

Homicide detectives searched a wooded area near the apartment complex on Friday, May 15, 2026. Julius Hampton, who lives in the apartment complex, described the scene that day. "Once you see a caravan of vehicles pulling up to an area, you kind of feel like something is going on," Hampton said.

Bexar County Sheriff's Office investigators said they are awaiting additional autopsy results to determine the cause of Proctor's death. The agency released grainy security camera images of a person of interest, captured by cameras in the area, showing a man with his head and face concealed by clothing. Anyone with information about the person in the images was asked to contact the sheriff's office at (210) 335-6000 or bcsotips@bexar.org.

Kirsten Davis, Proctor's sister, learned of the death two days after investigators found the body, when the sheriff's office informed her on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Speaking by Zoom from her home in South Carolina, Davis described her sister as a loving person, a mother of two, a U.S. Navy veteran, and an entrepreneur.

"I'm really concerned about my niece and nephew. They've lost their mother and were informed of that pretty close to Mother's Day," Davis said.

Davis urged anyone with information to come forward. "If you've seen something, heard something, say something," she said.
