GIZA, EGYPT — Amina Orfi defeated Nour El-Sherbini 6-11, 11-6, 11-9, 7-11, 14-12 in the women's final of the PSA World Championships 2026 in Giza, Egypt. The victory made the 18-year-old the first player to hold both the world junior and senior PSA championship titles at the same time.

The title was the 12th of Orfi's career on the PSA tour. Ranked third in the world, she reached the final after defeating Hania El-Hammamy 10-12, 11-7, 11-8, 11-9 in the semifinals.

"I'm speechless. I worked so hard to get here and had so many tough losses this season," Orfi said after the match. "I knew there was going to be pressure on both of them – Hania being world number one and Nour being a title away from breaking the record [for most world titles]. I knew I had the least pressure, and I went for it. I'm just so happy."

El-Sherbini, 31, entered the final ranked second in the world and with eight PSA World Championships titles to her name, having won her first at the age of 20. A ninth title would have given her the all-time record.

Orfi is 18 years and 10 months old. She won her 12th PSA title with the victory, and the win also secured her status as the first player in the sport's history to hold the world junior and senior titles simultaneously.

The final stands as the second-longest women's final in the history of the PSA World Championships and the eighth-longest women's match of all time. The longest women's final at the championships remains the 1981 meeting between Rhonda Thorne and Vicki Hoffman, which lasted 118 minutes.
