German startup Deep Care has expanded sales of its Isa desk device to consumers, offering the unit at €299 (approximately $354) with two optional subscription tiers. The device tracks posture, hydration, light, sound, and movement without using a camera or an internet connection.

Isa resembles a table clock and has a 5.5-inch IPS HD screen. It is powered via USB-C and has a power consumption rating of approximately 2.45 watts. A quad-core 2 GHz processor handles its features. The device can connect to Wi-Fi for software updates, and users can disable the Wi-Fi connection.

A Time-of-Flight 3D depth sensor on the front tracks posture and movement, functioning within a range of 0.15 meters to 1.8 meters. Isa also includes a ToF 1D sensor, a gyroscope, a barometer, a light sensor, a sound level sensor, a CO2/VoC sensor, and a temperature and humidity sensor. It currently supports only EU and US time zones.

During initial setup, Isa prompts users to enter personal details and information about their work routine. The screen displays posture using a squircle ring that fills or empties based on seating posture, and shows drinking using a water-tank-style widget. If the user is not sitting with correct posture, the indicator turns yellow. Isa vibrates to alert the user if they have been slouching too long and indicates if they are leaning too far forward or backward to help correct their stance.

If the user remains stationary for a period, Isa suggests getting up and provides on-device guided exercises. When the user returns to their desk after a break, the movement tracker resets. Isa typically detects when the user steps away and switches to a digital clock display. If an object or pet passes between the user and the sensor, the device may register it as a person and log the user as stationary. Occasionally, Isa incorrectly indicates the user has been stationary too long when the user has been sitting for less than half an hour.

Deep Care, founded by three former Bosch employees, initially sold Isa directly to businesses before expanding to consumers. The Core subscription plan costs €4.99 per month and provides access to posture tracking, healthy sitting habit tracking, drinking habit detection, and an exercise library. The Pro plan costs €7.99 per month and enables tracking of light, noise, and CO2 levels.

The company plans to use Isa's sensor suite for mental health-related tracking, aiming to measure breathing patterns using signals such as posture, head movement, and chest movement. Deep Care also intends to develop a stress-related score by combining environmental data like noise, light levels, and CO2 with the sensor measurements.
