GUADALUPE COUNTY — A multi-agency operation led by the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office rescued 12 victims of prostitution and resulted in eight arrests, authorities announced. The operation, called Operation Rolling Thunder, was conducted over a three-day period from May 5 to May 7 in Guadalupe County.

Six people were taken into custody for soliciting prostitution, and two drivers for the victims were booked on existing warrants. The suspects who were arrested for solicitation were believed to be meeting what they thought was a victim but were speaking with a detective during the sting operation.

The Sheriff's Office worked with the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Medina County Sheriff's Office, the FBI, and other agencies to make the arrests. The participating agencies coordinated across the three-day period to identify victims and take suspects into custody.

The 12 rescued victims were identified over the course of the operation as authorities worked to locate individuals involved in prostitution in the county. The effort marked the third Operation Rolling Thunder led by the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office, indicating the agency has conducted similar multi-agency operations on prior occasions.
