SAN ANTONIO — Eric Tellez Perez, 39, was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the head on May 8 at a home in the 8900 block of Prairie Hill Street in San Antonio, according to a police report. The San Antonio Police Department is investigating the death as a homicide.
Perez was pronounced dead that day, the medical examiner said. The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide and listed the cause of death as a blunt force injury to the head.
According to a police report, a prospective buyer had been looking to purchase the Prairie Hill Street home from the original homeowner on May 5. The following day, on May 6, the buyer told police that Perez approached them and asked for work.
The buyer agreed to hire Perez to help clean the property in exchange for money and food, the report stated. Upon arrival two days later, on May 8, the buyer found Perez lying on the ground with blood on the floor, according to the report.
The buyer notified the original homeowner and later called SAPD, according to the report. Police responded to the scene at the 8900 block of Prairie Hill Street, where Perez was subsequently pronounced dead, the medical examiner said.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, an SAPD spokesperson said. The spokesperson said the investigation is ongoing. SAPD has not identified any suspects, according to the spokesperson.
