TYLER, TEXAS — A grand jury in Tyler, Texas, indicted Eddie Willis, 57, on 10 counts of child pornography possession on April 30, 2026, after investigators found more than 1,000 images and videos of child pornography on electronic devices connected to him. Willis is scheduled for an arraignment hearing on Monday, May 18, 2026.

The investigation began when a Texas Department of Public Safety special agent developed probable cause to believe that electronic devices connected to a certain IP address were being used to obtain and distribute child pornography through peer-to-peer file sharing software. In July 2021, the agent connected the IP address to the home where Willis was living, and a judge issued a warrant for the home that same month.

On July 22, 2021, Willis was interviewed by investigators. He admitted to using the peer-to-peer file sharing software but did not admit to downloading child pornography.

In August 2021, the special agent obtained a search warrant for digital evidence seized at Willis's home. The agent found and tagged 465 images of child pornography on a MacBook Pro and 645 images or videos of child pornography on an iMac computer. The investigator also found videos of child pornography in the downloads folder on a device. Combined, the devices contained more than 1,000 images or videos of child pornography.

Willis was first arrested in November 2021 and released the same day. He was arrested again in 2022 and released the same day. The grand jury indictment on 10 counts of child pornography possession followed in April 2026, nearly five years after the initial investigation identified the IP address linked to his home.
