NEW YORK — Disney unveiled its 2027 live-event and streaming lineup at an upfront presentation held at the Javits Center in New York, featuring expanded NFL partnerships, new series premieres and a slate built around Super Bowl LXI, the College Football Championship, the Grammys and the Oscars, which are scheduled within six weeks of each other. The pitch promoted ESPN, Hulu, Disney+, ABC and FX, with Anne Hathaway introducing Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro.

The Savannah Bananas opened the event with a performance of "The Greatest Show," and a presenter and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell discussed an expanded relationship between Disney and the league, with Super Bowl MVPs Jerry Rice and Kurt Warner also appearing on stage.

Disney announced plans to treat the Super Bowl as a year-long celebration and to create a fan experience around the game. ESPN and Disney will host a week-long content hub on Santa Monica Beach ahead of the L.A.-area Super Bowl on February 14, 2027, including an ESPN Beach studio, a free fan activation and additional experiences. The Super Bowl regularly commands more than 120 million viewers.

"We are receiving an unbelievable amount of asks to get into the Super Bowl," said Rita Ferro, global ads president, adding that Disney will have a wide variety of categories in its crop of advertisers for the game.

Disney will be the exclusive home of the Banana Bowl this fall through a partnership with the Savannah Bananas. The event will stream live on Disney+ and feature top teams from the Banana Ball league competing for the season championship. Disney also extended its partnership with the Country Music Association Awards through 2032. The Grammys will air on ABC and stream on Disney+ and Hulu on February 7, 2027, and Conan O'Brien will return to host the 99th Academy Awards.

On the scripted side, Ahsoka Season 2 will premiere on Disney+ in 2027. A new cast member joined American Horror Story 13 and appeared on stage with Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe, Billie Lourd and Emma Roberts. Three cast members introduced the Hulu series "The Land," focused on the Cleveland Browns, while other talent discussed Vision Quest and a Pompeii series for National Geographic.

Performers from Dancing with the Stars appeared at the upfront halftime, and the show revealed three celebrities who will compete in Season 35. Television host Jimmy Kimmel closed the presentation with a joke that Disney is going to spend a whole year promoting the Super Bowl. "I didn't think I'd ever see you guys again either. I've been through so much bullsh*t this year. It actually made me appreciate this bullsh*t," Kimmel said.
