DALLAS-FORT WORTH METROPLEX — Amazon launched its Amazon Now 30-minute delivery service in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, according to a press release. The company said it plans to expand the program to Austin, Houston, Phoenix, Denver, and Oklahoma City, and to reach tens of millions of customers across the United States by the end of the year.

Amazon Now allows customers to order fresh groceries, household essentials, and locally relevant items for delivery in 30 minutes or less. The service had previously been tested in Dallas-Fort Worth, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Seattle, with the initial pilots in Seattle and Philadelphia. Most residents of Atlanta and the Dallas-Fort Worth area now have access to the program.

"Amazon Now is for when you need or want the convenience of getting your Amazon order delivered in 30 minutes or less," said Udit Madan, senior vice president of Amazon Worldwide Operations. "With thousands of items available for ultra-fast delivery, you can get everything from groceries for dinner, to AirPods before a flight, to household essentials like laundry detergent or toothpaste delivered right to your door."

Prime members pay a delivery fee of $3.99 per order for Amazon Now, while non-Prime customers pay $13.99. For orders under $15, Amazon charges an additional $1.99 for Prime members and $3.99 for non-Prime customers. Annual Prime membership costs $139. When the service is available in a customer's area, a "30-Minute Delivery" option appears on the banner of the Amazon app or homepage.

To support the program, Amazon is opening small order-processing hubs in dozens of cities in the U.S. and abroad. The mini-warehouses are roughly the size of a CVS drugstore and each stock about 3,500 products, including beer, diapers, pet food, meat, nonprescription medications, playing cards, and cellphone charging cables. The service focuses on smaller, urgent orders including dairy and eggs, fresh produce, bakery items, health, baby, pet supplies, personal care, electronics, and alcohol where permitted. In most areas where it is available, Amazon Now operates 24 hours a day.

Amazon Now is currently live in Houston, Denver, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Florida, and dozens of other cities, with New York City expected by year-end. The service first launched in India in June 2025, and it is also available in urban areas of Brazil, Mexico, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. Amazon also offers one-hour and three-hour delivery on more than 90,000 products in Dallas-Fort Worth.
