WASHINGTON — Scott Probst, a brother of "Survivor" host Jeff Probst, has died at age 58, according to an Instagram post by his brother Brent Probst. Additional details, including a cause of death, have not been publicly released.

"Some sad news, our brother Scott is no longer with us. He was a great brother, son and friend. I will miss him so much." Brent Probst wrote in the post announcing the death.

Scott Probst worked behind the scenes on "Survivor" in its early years, serving as an art assistant on what IMDb lists as early episodes of the show. He later worked on the show as a camera assistant, grip and video engineer during the early 2010s, according to IMDb. Outside of his work on the reality competition, Scott produced the video games "Medal of Honor: European Assault" and "Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight," according to IMDb.

Jeff Probst has hosted every season of "Survivor" since it debuted in 2000 and serves as an executive producer on the Emmy-winning series. He has not publicly commented on his brother's death.

The 50th season of "Survivor" is approaching its finale later this month. Abigail Probst joined the "Dream Team" production crew in 2024 and is part of the 50th season. CBS has not indicated that Scott Probst's death will impact filming of the finale.

Scott Probst's death follows the death of Barbara Probst, who died in November 2024 at age 85. Barbara Probst was honored during a special tribute during Season 47 of "Survivor."
