VIRGINIA — A retired military veteran from Virginia named Vanesa won $240,150 in cash and prizes on the Mother's Day episode of "The Price is Right," setting a record for the largest amount ever awarded in a single pricing game in the show's 54-year history. Vanesa claimed the prize by playing "The Lion's Share."

"Winning over $200,000 is life-changing," Vanesa said. Her total comprised $227,500 in cash and a trip to Morocco valued at $12,650.

"The Lion's Share" is the first custom-branded pricing game in the show's history and the first new pricing game added since 2021. It was introduced through a partnership between BetMGM and Fremantle and replaced the former Pay the Rent game in the show's rotation.

In the game, contestants earn up to five balls by guessing the prices of grocery store items. The format offers a chance to win up to $500,000 in cash, cars, trips and other prizes. The game unfolds in three phases: a pricing challenge to earn balls, a 30-second dash inside a wind chamber to collect them, and a final reveal where contestants decide whether to cash out or continue.

Vanesa played all five balls. The first was worth $2,500, the second carried a $25,000 prize, and the third and fourth each carried $100,000 prizes. The fifth ball awarded her the trip to Morocco valued at $12,650.

The previous single pricing game record was $210,000, won by Christen Freeman in October 2016 playing Cliff Hangers. The show's all-time overall winnings record remains $262,743 in cash and prizes, set by contestant Michael Stouber in 2019 across multiple games in a single episode, including $202,000 from a game of Plinko. Those records apply to different categories: Freeman's mark covered the most won in a single pricing game, while Stouber's total reflects winnings accumulated across an entire episode.

"The Price is Right," hosted by Drew Carey, airs weekdays on CBS and streams on Paramount+.
