ATLANTA — Kelvin Evans pleaded guilty to criminal trespass and entering a vehicle with the intent to commit theft in Fulton County Superior Court on May 12, 2026, in connection with a July 2025 theft from a rental car used by Beyoncé's choreographer. Evans was sentenced to five years, including two years in prison and three years on probation, and was ordered to stay away from the victims and the location of the theft.

Evans had previously rejected a plea agreement that would have handed him five years in prison. His lawyer said he was "Hoping for a future where he can make money legitimately and be part of society like the rest of us."

The theft occurred on July 8, 2025, in Atlanta, when Evans broke into a Jeep Wagoneer rented by choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue. The two returned to find the rental vehicle's rear window smashed and their luggage missing. They reported that the stolen items included jump drives containing unreleased music, footage plans for Beyoncé's live show, and previous and upcoming set lists.

Surveillance video showed Evans driving in an Atlanta parking garage, parking next to the vehicle, looking inside, removing black suitcases, and carrying them into a building connected to his sister. Prosecutors said the suitcases were never seen again. Investigators have not recovered the hard drives or other stolen items.

An arrest warrant was issued on July 14, 2025, and investigators arrested Evans the following month. Evans's niece told police that she received an iPhone and several chargers that were among the items taken from the rental car, and prosecutors confirmed those items had been reported as stolen.

In an interview, Evans said, "I am the king thief of Atlanta." Evans has been reported as both 40 and 41 years old.
