LONDON — Apple Corps has re-acquired 3 Savile Row in Mayfair, central London, and will open the Beatles' former headquarters to the public as a seven-floor attraction in 2027. The Georgian mansion house was the site of the band's final public performance, played on its rooftop in 1969.

The attraction will showcase items from the Apple Corps archives, host temporary exhibitions and include a shop. It will feature a recreation of the studio where the Beatles recorded their last album, Let It Be, and provide public access to the rooftop where the band performed its final concert.

"Every single day, fans are taking pictures of the outside of 3 Savile Row – but next year they can go in." Apple Corps chief executive Tom Greene said. He is overseeing the company's return to the building. "Even the railings remain the same from that famous day in 1969." he added.

Paul McCartney revisited the building ahead of the announcement. "There are so many special memories within the walls, not to mention the rooftop. The team have put together some really impressive plans and I'm excited for people to see it when it's ready." McCartney said. Ringo Starr, on returning to the site, said, "Wow, it's like coming home."

The 1969 rooftop performance featured five new Beatles songs performed across nine takes — Get Back, Don't Let Me Down, I've Got a Feeling, One After 909 and Dig a Pony — plus a rendition of God Save the Queen. Two police officers entered the building, climbed to the roof and switched off the band's amplifiers during the performance. The Beatles then performed one last take of "Get Back." The performance was filmed for Michael Lindsay-Hogg's 1970 documentary about the making of Let It Be.

The Beatles founded Apple Corps in the late 1960s to gain control of their financial affairs and support other artistic and business ventures. When the band split in 1970, Apple Corps became the guardian of their legacy. Neil Aspinall stewarded the company until shortly before his death in 2008. Apple Corps left Savile Row in 1976.
