KNOXVILLE, TENN. — The Knoxville Police Department conducted a search Saturday morning on North Broadway near Adair Drive in Knoxville, Tenn., for a man wanted on outstanding burglary and theft warrants. The man fled from officers and was not located, the department said.

A large police presence gathered in the area around 9 a.m., according to the department. Officers were searching for a man who ran from them shortly before the deployment.

The department said officers had identified the man as someone with active burglary and theft warrants. The warrants covered burglary and theft offenses, KPD said. After canvassing the area near North Broadway and Adair Drive, officers did not find him.

KPD said the investigation is ongoing. The department said no additional details about the man's identity were released. The circumstances of the initial encounter between officers and the man were also not disclosed, nor were details about the underlying cases connected to the outstanding warrants.

The search took place in the North Broadway and Adair Drive area of Knoxville. KPD said officers deployed to the location after the man ran from them, and the department confirmed he had not been located as of the time of the report.
