SANTA MARGALIDA — British reality television personality Jake Hall was found dead at a holiday rental in Santa Margalida, in the north of Mallorca, on Wednesday morning. He was 35.
Police were called to the property at about 7.30am and found him unresponsive with head wounds reportedly caused by shards of glass. Officers investigating the death said they were considering that he may have smashed his head through a glass door.
The Spanish Civil Guard said it was investigating the incident and that it appeared to be an accidental death. There have been no arrests, and police spoke to four men and two women who were staying at the villa. An autopsy will take place in the Mallorcan capital, Palma. A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said: "We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities."
Hall had been spending time in Mallorca with family and had been posting videos and photographs of his holiday on Instagram in the days leading up to his death. He often spent time on the island, where he had a second home, and recently unveiled a sculpture he had made there.
The Only Way Is Essex production team said: "Jake was a part of the Towie family for a number of years and we send our very deepest sympathies to his family and friends following today's very sad news." Hall is survived by his daughter, River, with Missé Beqiri.
