WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Trump on Feb. 6, 2026, launched TrumpRx, a website where cash-paying patients can find discounted prescription medicines, at an event in Washington, D.C. The site features about 30 of roughly 85 Pfizer drugs, with discounts provided as coupons co-branded with GoodRx.com.

Since the start of his second term, Trump has announced, negotiated, or proposed multiple initiatives aimed at the pharmaceutical industry. Last July, he sent letters to 17 drugmakers demanding they voluntarily lower drug prices, and he said he negotiated with more than a dozen pharmaceutical executives individually at the White House. In December, Trump announced that he had compelled pharmaceutical executives to agree to "most favored nation" pricing on Medicaid. He also promised to expedite biosimilar products by reducing FDA regulatory requirements.

After Trump met with Albert Bourla, CEO of Pfizer, the company announced discounts on more than 30 drugs. "A win for American patients, a win for American leadership, and a win for Pfizer," Bourla said. The TrumpRx.gov site offers patients savings up to 85%, according to a Pfizer press release.

TrumpRx lists the cholesterol-lowering drug Colestid for 50% off at $127.91, while generic versions cost about $17 on the Cost Plus site. The 5-milligram branded Pfizer hydrocortisone product Cortef is listed at $45, half its list price of $91.80. The HIV treatment Viracept is listed at $607.20 and is intended for use with other drugs that are not discounted. The price of Xeljanz on the site decreased from $2,277 to $1,518 per month. Amgen's Humira was added at $950 per dose, down from a list price of nearly $7,000; two Humira biosimilars are listed at $207.60 per dose. The site also includes three fertility drugs from EMD Serono, of which Gonal-F is offered at $168 per IVF cycle with a coupon, down from $966.

"If it makes a difference to any patient, it's a win," said Mark Cuban, a billionaire investor. Cuban pointed to discounted pricing on TrumpRx for branded fertility drugs and GLP-1 weight loss drugs for people without insurance or whose plans do not include coverage.

"They don't change anything about the way drugs are priced," said Aaron Kesselheim, a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. "The agreements are opaque and unenforceable," he said. According to 46brooklyn, a consulting firm tracking brand-name drug prices, close to 1,000 brand-name drugs increased in list price in January 2026, and in 2025 the number of brand-name list price increases was the highest on record. In the first week of 2026, Pfizer raised the list prices of 71 drugs by an average of 5% and lowered the list price of one drug by 9.8%.

The Trump administration continued the Medicare drug price negotiation program for expensive drugs that began under the Biden administration. Discounts negotiated on an initial 10 drugs, including blood thinners, insulins, and medicines for inflammatory disorders, took effect on Jan. 1, with some price reductions exceeding 50%. Those discounts are estimated to save $6 billion annually and allow the program to cap Medicare Part D out-of-pocket spending at $2,000 for 2025 and beyond. Fifteen additional high-priced drugs are set for negotiation this year, and the 40 negotiated drug prices are expected to save Medicare over $20 billion annually. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act exempts drugs for rare diseases from Medicare drug price negotiations.
