CALIFORNIA — Our Revolution endorsed Tom Steyer in the 2026 California governor's race, aligning the progressive group with the billionaire candidate one month before the state's all-party primary. The endorsement coincided with Steyer rising to top-tier status in the contest.

Our Revolution is aligned with Senator Bernie Sanders. Joseph Geevarghese, executive director of Our Revolution, said he had been impressed with Steyer's policy platform and engagement with liberal groups in California.

Steyer has consistently advocated for single-payer health care, taxing the profits of oil companies, and a billionaire tax measure. He has spent more than $120 million of his own money on his gubernatorial campaign.

Our Revolution's endorsement adds to a series of alignments between progressive organizations and Steyer as the California governor's race advances toward its all-party primary. Steyer's policy positions, including single-payer health care and a tax on oil company profits, have drawn support from groups on the left of the Democratic Party. Our Revolution, which is aligned with Sanders, has endorsed candidates in races across the country. Geevarghese serves as the organization's executive director.
