New Hampshire State Rep. Matt Sabourin dit Choinière proposed an amendment on January 14, 2026, to add a member of an extremist group led by Germar Rudolf to the state's Commission on Holocaust and Genocide Education. The amendment failed to attract any support in the legislature.

The amendment was offered during consideration of a bill introduced the same day by Democratic State Rep. Loren Selig to extend the commission's term by three years. At Sabourin dit Choinière's invitation, Rudolf and two other men known for antisemitic activism testified at the January 14 hearing on Holocaust education.

Rudolf contends that the Nazis never used gas chambers to commit mass murder. His Holocaust denial claims have been repeatedly debunked.

Approached at the state capitol for comment, Sabourin dit Choinière said, "Actually, I don't have time," then turned and left the building. In a subsequent email, he wrote that his position is not hatred.

On April 14, 2026, Sabourin dit Choinière posted on Facebook a photo of himself presenting the amendment with the caption, "ahead of our time." The legislature did not impose any formal consequences on him for the amendment.

Sabourin dit Choinière was elected to the New Hampshire state legislature in 2024 and is linked to the state's libertarian Free State movement. He has received endorsements and high marks from Turning Point Action, the state chapter of National Right to Life, and Americans for Prosperity. The New Hampshire chapter of Americans for Prosperity said in a statement that it opposes antisemitism in all forms, that the referenced endorsement was made during a previous election cycle, and that it has not issued any endorsements for the current cycle.

In 2020, a jury in Pennsylvania convicted Rudolf of open lewdness and indecent exposure after a police officer found him naked from the waist down at a children's playground around 4 a.m. Rudolf told the court he was wearing "skimpy" tiger-print shorts to exercise at the playground, but the jury rejected his explanation. He lost a subsequent appeal and was sentenced to probation. In 2022, Rudolf was charged with trespassing on school grounds and disorderly conduct and later pleaded guilty.
