GEORGETOWN, TEXAS — A Williamson County jury convicted Jason Allen Crouch of continuous sexual abuse of a child on Tuesday and sentenced him to life in prison. The verdict was returned in Georgetown, Texas.

Law enforcement responded in December 2022 to a call about a mother who said her 12-year-old daughter was sexually assaulted, according to the Williamson County District Attorney's Office. The child told her mother the abuse began when she was 5 years old and lasted seven years.

According to a press release from the district attorney's office, the abuse came to light only after the victim expressed a paralyzing fear of returning home following a visit to a friend's house. Testimony at trial said the victim was subjected to more than 100 sexual assaults that happened up to three or four times each week.

Evidence at trial showed that Crouch was a known figure to the 12-year-old and occupied a position of trust, which he used to avoid detection, according to officials. Crouch was a professional BMX rider and a track operator at the Central Texas BMX track in Pflugerville, according to officials.

"This survivor showed incredible strength by coming forward, and we hope this verdict brings her and her family a sense of justice and security they deserve," Williamson County District Attorney Shawn Dick said following the sentencing. "My office remains committed to prosecuting those who prey on the vulnerable and ensuring that we use every resource available to keep our children safe," Dick said.
