PENNSYLVANIA — Veteran Democratic Party strategist James Carville criticized Sen. John Fetterman in a video published Saturday over Fetterman’s support for the war in Iran. Carville said Fetterman’s position fit what he described as a long history of wrong opinions.

In the video, Carville opened by saying, “Can I say a public prayer?” He added, “And can I assure you that the fact that you think it's a good idea is not going to matter one wit to any Democrat.”

Carville also said, “It might get your name in the paper more.” He later used profanity directed at Fetterman, saying, “F------ a—----.”

Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, won the 2022 Pennsylvania Senate race, helping Democrats keep their majority. The race was closely watched and became one of the most contentious battles of the midterm elections.

Since taking office, Fetterman has made public statements and taken stances that have put him at odds with fellow Democrats, while also becoming one of the more bipartisan voices in the Democratic Party.

In early March, Fetterman wrote, “I’m not sure why it’s controversial to anyone to appreciate and celebrate wiping out 49 leaders of one of the most evil regimes in recorded history.”

The video discussion also included questions about Democratic reactions to President Donald Trump and the war in Iran. Al Hunt, co-host of the “Politics War Room” podcast, asked whether any Democrats would be “suckered” into supporting Trump or pausing criticism of him amid the war in Iran.

Responding in the same exchange, Hunt said, “That train has left the station. This war is going so badly that anyone jumping on that train — I'm mixing my metaphors now – it would be a kamikaze mission. So the answer is, ‘No.’”

Trump announced that a potentially four-week mission against Iran was ahead of schedule after discovering several top Iranian officials reportedly in the same area. Fox News Digital reached out to Fetterman’s office and did not receive an immediate reply.
