MICHIGAN — Paige Shiver, the former executive assistant to ex-University of Michigan assistant coach Sherrone Moore, will speak publicly for the first time about her legal case against him in a Good Morning America interview airing Friday. It marks her first public comments since the case that led to Moore's dismissal in December and his sentencing this month.

In excerpts of the interview, Shiver said Moore controlled her emotions and her career and used that control against her. ABC said the full interview will air on Friday.

Moore, then 39, was fired by the University of Michigan for what the university described as an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. He was arrested shortly after his firing following an altercation at Shiver's apartment.

According to prosecutors, Moore sent repeated unwanted communications after Shiver attempted to end contact and reported their relationship to the university. Police said Moore later went to Shiver's apartment, where he allegedly threatened self-harm.

Court records show the case included a felony count of third-degree home invasion and misdemeanor charges of trespassing and malicious use of a telecommunications device. Moore was sentenced on April 14 to 18 months' probation after resolving the charges tied to the incident. He avoided jail time and must undergo mental health treatment, abstain from alcohol and have no contact with Shiver.

In a statement issued through her attorneys after the sentencing, Shiver said: "The punishment did not reflect the harm done to me or the objective evidence in this case."
