President Donald Trump's approval ratings on the economy, inflation, immigration and overall job performance have fallen to the lowest levels recorded during his second term, according to recent polling. A poll of registered voters showed 34% approved of his handling of the economy, 28% approved of his handling of inflation and 46% approved of his handling of immigration.
Among adults, 37% approved of Trump's overall job performance, the lowest snapshot of his second term so far. On the question of inflation and the cost of living, 32% of adults approved of his handling of the issue.
The overall job performance figure among adults has declined over the course of his second term. In December 2025, 42% of adults approved of Trump's overall job performance. In February 2026, 39% approved. A year earlier, in early 2025, 45% of adults had approved, placing the current reading below each of those prior measurements.
Among registered voters, Trump's overall approval rating stood at 49% in March 2025 and has since moved to 42%, according to the poll. The poll surveyed both registered voters and adults, with registered voter figures used for issue-specific approval ratings and the broader adult sample used for overall job performance.
The current readings also trail comparable measurements from Trump's first term. In October 2018, 49% of registered voters approved of his handling of the economy, compared with 34% in the latest survey. In the same October 2018 polling, 47% of registered voters approved of his overall job performance, compared with 42% in the most recent registered voter measure.
